Jacob Michael

Get to know Jacob

In his role at SWF Industrial, Jacob wears many hats, but his goal is always the same: keep the team moving forward. Whether he’s reviewing water treatment projects, estimating quick-turn quotes, troubleshooting technical specs, or following up on contract details, Jacob ensures that opportunity flows steadily into the pipeline.

Known for his adaptability, Jacob is the kind of teammate who jumps in wherever he’s needed—researching, learning, and supporting others with a can-do attitude. One of his proudest career moments was landing the Annapolis WRF truck bay project—his first major $400K estimate—which not only succeeded financially but gave him lasting confidence in his skills. Since then, he’s been instrumental in expanding SWF’s wastewater presence into new regions, including Florida.

What drives him? His coworkers. Surrounded by hardworking individuals, Jacob feels motivated to match their effort and keep the momentum going.

He describes SWF’s culture as positive, accountable, growth-minded, and fear-free—a place where people are empowered to do good work and be good people. He brings a rare mix of technical skill and emotional intelligence, always ready to pivot roles or take on something new for the greater good of the team.

Outside of work, Jacob finds joy in the simple things: walking his dog Yeti Spaghetti, birding in his backyard (he’s tracked over 24 species so far), and watching Formula One or Orioles baseball with his family. He’s a natural tinkerer—refinishing furniture, planting native flowers, or building birdhouses. Music fills his world, and so does kindness.

His philosophy is clear: Kindness breeds kindness. Or in the words of J. Cole: “No such thing as a life that’s better than yours.”
