Get to know Jake
As Structural Department Manager at SWF Industrial, Jake leads a 24-person team spanning fabrication, welding, and advanced machine operations, including the Prodevco, Messer table, and Paint. He oversees job breakdowns, nesting, cut lists, and material takeoffs while coordinating closely with project managers and department leaders to deliver projects efficiently and keep customers satisfied. His leadership is rooted in preparation, organization, and accountability—ensuring teams have what they need before work begins.
One of Jake’s proudest milestones was stepping into the role of Structural Department Manager, a responsibility that reflects both his technical expertise and his people-first leadership style. Drawing from his culinary background, Jake applies the principle of mise en place—having everything prepared and in order—to fabrication. For him, a good day means everyone works safely and goes home at the end of the day, because when people come first, everything else follows. His guiding belief: the only real failure is not trying at all.
Outside of work, Jake is deeply committed to his family and values showing up for his kids no matter what. He enjoys golfing and spending quality time with loved ones, and once took on the challenge of flipping a Victorian home with his next-door neighbor.
